As we are working on categories for 2.0, I would like to replace all the icons I provide with some that make more sense. Therefore, I am asking for artists that wish to be part of the project to come forth and provide some icons that they would like included. For those that don’t know, categories is an app that provides folders on your springboard. Things like: games, apps, misc, settings, docs, internet, speed dial might make good categories. Here are my favorite icons to give you an example.

Notice the folder theme. Anyways, if anyone would like to contibute some icons please just make them around 60×60 png files (57×57 I think is standard size) and email me a zip of them here.

I updated BossPrefs today to version 2.12b. The changelog can be viewed in the link but one feature that is worth calling out. I added an apple killswitch neuter button. This will allow you to turn off Apple’s killswitch.

I still havent been approved for the official SDK distribution. If anyone has an approval for a $99 developers license, and is not planning to use it, I am offering $250 to purchase it off you. I don’t care if you have paid the $99 already or not. Please contact me if you’re interested.
Update: Apple opened this up and I got mine now.

To fix a reported bug reported by user LibC, I have released Docs v1.14. The update code was actually given to me by LibC, himself. (He finds a bug and suggests a fix, nice!). Anyways, it should fix encodings of directory scans that contain foreign language characters. Thanks LibC!

Touchpad Pro is updated today to v4.1. Here are the changes from the developer: “The main thing in this new release is that I fixed a bug where for large monitors (eg Apple 30″) with very large vertical resolutions, you couldn’t scroll below a certain threshold.”
I updated my Docs app today to v1.10. I have done quite a bit of work on this app. Most notable new features: Added preview mode so you can get a quick preview without having to load safari, revamped the GUI, added a help and changes button, added support for audio and video files via AVPlayer.

I wrote a new app today called “Docs”. This is a front end for locally stored documents on the iPhone so that you can read them easily. This is similar to “Wild Eyes” app except it’s better because with Wild Eyes, you must install a local web server such as apache or lightftpd. These drain battery and take resources.
This app uses the safari file:// patch. So it will be required that you install that patch before the app (both are in installer - Cydia users will find the 1.1.3/4 patch installs automatically for them).
To use the app, just copy your documents to your iPhone in a folder such as /var/mobile/Media/Documents. The folder to use is up to you. Load the app and navigate to this folder then tap “save default” to make this the default folder that will load each time the app loads. After this, the app will always load in this location. Select the doc and you will be taken right to safari with the doc loading.
This is better than the PDF reader because you get to use Safari’s awesome zoom, pinch, and landscape features. You can also install bookmarklets for an in page search. This is better than using the file:// patch alone with Safari bookmarks because you can add a lot of documents and not have to ever type the documents to create the initial bookmark.

Ok this should be (crossing fingers) my final update to BossPrefs to address airplane / phone toggles. This update cleans up the GUI a bit. Airplane mode now auto toggles the wifi slider. And also added a config option to use the old or new phone toggle method. If you don’t have AT&T or such, you can use the non-compatible version of the toggle which works a bit nicer. Otherwise you get the one that sets airplane mode + wifi.

MuscleNerd from the iPhone Dev Team has allowed me to host BootNeuter. This is the dev team’s official iPhone unlocker for 1.1.4 basebands - part of the pwnage package. BootNeuter gives you total control of your S-Gold bootloader and baseband. (Yes, iClarified is hosting this, but they just ripped it off without permission like they do most their stuff).
It’s an application you run right on your iPhone that lets you:
- Neuter your bootloader
- Unlock your baseband
- Reflash your bootloader to 3.9BL or 4.6BL no matter what version you’re at now (even if you’re at 3.8BL)
- Fakeblank your bootloader to let you run serial payloads directly on your S-Gold
