Import contacts from SIM card

The iPhone does not read contacts from the SIM card. Luckily, there is a completely free application that will allow you to import your contacts. It’s called SIMPort. Here are the steps to get it and use it:

On 1.1.4 or earlier:

  1. Jailbreak your phone.
  2. Load installer, scroll to “sources” category (not tab, but category in the Install tab).
  3. Install “BigBoss Beta/Experimental Repo”.
  4. After the refresh, scroll down to the “Utilities” category and install “SIMPort”.
  5. After install, exit installer and run SIMPort.
  6. Import all contacts
  7. Load installer and uninstall SIMPort. It is no longer needed.
  8. Your contacts are now imported off your SIM card.

On 2.0 or newer:

  1. Go into settings
  2. Mail, Contacts, Calendars
  3. Scroll down and tap “Import SIM Contacts”
  4. Your contacts are now imported off your SIM card.
