The iPhone does not read contacts from the SIM card. Luckily, there is a completely free application that will allow you to import your contacts. It’s called SIMPort. Here are the steps to get it and use it:
On 1.1.4 or earlier:
- Jailbreak your phone.
- Load installer, scroll to “sources” category (not tab, but category in the Install tab).
- Install “BigBoss Beta/Experimental Repo”.
- After the refresh, scroll down to the “Utilities” category and install “SIMPort”.
- After install, exit installer and run SIMPort.
- Import all contacts
- Load installer and uninstall SIMPort. It is no longer needed.
- Your contacts are now imported off your SIM card.
On 2.0 or newer:
- Go into settings
- Mail, Contacts, Calendars
- Scroll down and tap “Import SIM Contacts”
- Your contacts are now imported off your SIM card.
