I usually don’t write about apps that I don’t host, but this is an exception. Saurik has done it again. Cycorder is now a full featured video recorder that does video and sound in pic mjpeg format. The videos are ~ 15fps with audio at a decent resolution. The app is free and great!
The next app is called Quick Gold from developer Zataang. It’s like quicksilver on OSX. You just tap home once while on springboard and a window comes up where you type a search. It is instant searching of all your apps, contacts, webclips etc. For example check out what happens when you type “bo”
After this, you can just select the item in the list and it launches.

first off cycorder snake video looks great, I have a touch so I can’t fully experience that one. I installed quick gold and used it I like the idea and the app works great but I probably won’t use it much. One issue I did find is that when I use the wiggle feature and I hit home to set the icons quick gold always pops up, I don’t like that.

Yepp, you are right. I would prefer Quick Gold pop up on triple click at home button. Maybe this could be solved by editing some lines in app system files. I was searching iphone system files, but I cannot find where he put this app. Maybe someone know where is QG location?

Cycorder is Fantastic!! Way better then Video recorder and its Free!!! Great job Saurik. If it wasnt for people like you and BigBoss the iPhone would not be the great phone that it is today.

Only problem with the search app, is if your moving around icons from the springboard n u hit home, to stop them wiggling… the search automatically comes up which can be annoying.. If code can be implemented for it to sense when its doing that… I dont mind it being single tap… other then moving icons issue, it works well n is a top addition to making the phone experience more practical.

thanks big boss for this info…I have a question when i opened my cycorder there was an add for the app and when i clicked on it it showed a little preview of FIREFOX 3 On Iphone..does anyone know how to get that? That would be awesome to firefox on Iphone…please any let me know tanks

@[BigBoss Lovers…Well it’s not really Firefox for the iphone..but there is a mod (search cydia) where you can make your safari browser look like firefox (ie. loading bar green, icon’s are those from firefox) I’m guessing that’s what the ad was for.

I installed Quick Gold earlier and love it. VERY fast and no problems with lock ups or restores. Much faster for dialing contacts, especially if you have alot of contacts

yes i was equally impressed with how quick there response time was to that “wiggle” issue, I address it here, n a few hours later… they up n update.. Search has made launching apps easier then ever, quality over quality releases in the Jailbreak community :)

one thing with the launcher is that with categories installed the folders in categories is reconized as an application which makes sense but is a little annoying …
(I’ve a folder named settings … )
Thought you could add an option to resolve this?

Somehow my phone has stopped working - It opens up for 3 seconds and dies - any ideas ?
