As we are working on categories for 2.0, I would like to replace all the icons I provide with some that make more sense. Therefore, I am asking for artists that wish to be part of the project to come forth and provide some icons that they would like included. For those that don’t know, categories is an app that provides folders on your springboard. Things like: games, apps, misc, settings, docs, internet, speed dial might make good categories. Here are my favorite icons to give you an example.
Notice the folder theme. Anyways, if anyone would like to contibute some icons please just make them around 60×60 png files (57×57 I think is standard size) and email me a zip of them here.

So You want us to maintain the folder theme? Do you want us to keep those same groups? Apps and Apps 2? I’d rather separate Games and Emus and Apps than have two Apps folders. I would love to make some icons. I just need to be clear what you are looking for.

Well… as much as I like the icons that are included, I sometimes never find the right one for a theme I want to use. I wonder, that if I have my own theme, I can set my own icons (one that is not included, but is part of my winterboard theme) to the categories “folder” that is made on the spring board?
I know I could do this with 1.1.4 categories, but is it still possible with this new 2.0 version?

Sure. Icons will just be apps. Make one in your theme and you’re set.

I too refresh my cydia about a 100 times a day to see if Categories has been added yet. I have over 5 pages on my phone and it drives me NUTS! I LOOVVVVEEE Categories, hands down one of the most brilliant apps for the iphone. Keep em’ coming BiggBoss!

While I’m not sure, I suspect that categories will not lift the app limit because springboard still needs to enumerate them. However, we may be able to do something with Categories + Winterboard to solve it.

Is there a good reason for Apple to limit us to 9 pages? I mean it makes more sense for them to give us double that or even more so we buy more apps, but knowing Apple wouldn’t pass up a chance to make a buck I’m assuming more than 9 pages causes problems.

big boss do you know the app limit off hand?? i’d like to push my library to the max without a SWOD :) im also wondering is there still a app limit if you poof temporary unused apps?? please enlighten me with your great knowledge! boss you are a hero to the community! you know what would be a nice idea? perhaps if you think its worth the time could you make an app similar to appflow with your categories built into it? sorry for my questions. please at least answer with a no or an app amount to my 1st two questions.
