Pwnage v2.0.3 is out to support v2.0.2 firmwares on OSX. The guide is the same but the firmware support is expanded. You can download it via sparkle (the internal update system in pwnage). Or you can grab it off theiphoneproject.org here.
This version supports fw 2 .0.2, contains for installer 4 b6, and adds support for a bunch of .de language localizations. If you need a guide you can use our guide here.

Won’t Authenticate Mail Accounts I assume the Dev Team will have a real solution soon.Is this something they missed in the testing…seems odd for the dev team to miss something like this.wont even let me save my wifi password to get on cydia…will have to do it over edge

Use bossprefs “fix user dir permissions”. If that doesn’t do it, delete all your email accounts and try again. If that doesn’t work try your youtube. If that also doesn’t connect it’s because you need proper activation.

Pls, quickpwn software doesnt work after firmware check, and i dont have mac to run the pwnage tool.

I had 2 Gmail accounts that got restored back that don’t work …meaning … Just keeps “Checking for Mail” but never downloads any. I have deleted the email accounts …and created new ones checking settings over and over …still does same thing. Thanks for your help BB

For the email fix, use the boss prefs tools and click “fix user dir permissions” hopefully that should fix it.

No there won’t. For one thing, Cydia moves your apps around to free up disk space. An update would make a new apps folder and you would have several hundred megs of lost data. Not really a good situation.

I also have a really cute picture of a kitten in a mug :) the picture is nice, but I’m not able to build a firmware image which I am sure will make the kitten sad if it understood the concept.
any ideas folks? I have enough space, permissions on /Volumes look cool but I don’t get asked for the admin password during this mount process. I guess this is the problem.

Hey all….
Despite repairing permissions, I still had the issue. So, to my eternal shame, I rebooted my Mac and now I’m able to build the custom image to completion!
For infomation I updated pwnage using the internal updater (sparkle?).
Just incase anyone else has this issue, reboot and it should work!
I was thinking this afternoon (before I saw pwnage 2.0.3 was out) that without the people who put this together, we would be stuck with the bog standard iPhone look and feel using only approved software. What a dull and uniform world that would be, thanks chaps, wherever you may be.

wheneveri try to install my firmware 2.0.2 custon onto my ipod touch, it completes and when it reconnects to my itunes, it says that i am currently in restore mode, and when i attempt to reinstall my firmware again, it says error 6. ive tried to do a simple install, and a expert install, still getting error 6.

download and update 2.0.3.1, it fixed my error 6, it should be as easy as going to pwenage - check for update - and it should automatically appear.

Bigboss, I just had to drop you a quick “Thank you” very much for explaining things the way anyone can understand and use your tutorials, For 3 days and nights I must have read 100 blogs. websites, Tutorials (if thats what they can be called” that yes maybe people like you can understand but hell man, people like you dont need to be reading them!!You know what to do, FINALLY today I googled your name to find this site afetr running the new Quickpwn 3 or 4 times because “I was told to do this way” even though my phone was never pwned before but was unlocked using ziphone, I was currently on 1.1.4 and if you look at most sites many users are asking for help with this and they do not get the correct instructions, What a waste of time! Not until I read hre that simply “This is a front end to quickpwn which is v2.0.1 *only*.” This was when I knew I had wasted 1/2 a day, If anyone reads this in the same position Use bigboss’ tutorial to run Winpwn FIRST, I didnt even use the quickpwn after al after seeing how great winpwn worked, I successfully re-unlocked the phone had been locked again trying all morning and got tmobile $5.99 hack and even have Youtube now which I didnt get with Ziphone, I can sleep well tonight and MAYBE try again tomorrow to use quickpwn but I really think I will wait until the final releaseSorry such a long “quick Thank you” But Thank YOU!!.Vig

BB, awesome work you guys do! I’ve loaded the latest pwnage 2.0.3, get to the “new” or “restore from backup” setup screen in iTunes, and it restores (takes forever), but then takes me right back to the same iTunes setup screen. Did I miss a step along the way?

Would you recommend updating using this software, considering the “2.0.2 is a dud” post? I’m on 2.0.0 and experiencing no problems. what advantages are there to upgrading to 2.0.2?
Also, do you have to go to 2.0.1 first, or can you go straight from 2.0.0 to 2.0.2?

Cannot lock the phone with a password. As soon as you set it, it still says off after you leave the preference pane. This is on 2 phones, both 2G.

I got a problem with this pwnage tool, i upgraded my iphone into 2.0.2 and on the process everything was ok until i finished installing the custom .ipsw, after that the itunes gave me an error and the iphone did not sync with itunes I tried to restore the iphone with the custom .ipsw and now is bricked, the iphone only shows the pineapple and then shows the steve jobs cartoon, i tired everything, switching ubs ports, downgrading itunes to 7.5 (both in mac and pc)….if anybody has another method thatworks please feel to reply my message thank you.

Can anyone please help me with this issue: After pwnage, when itunes starts back up & I try to restore using “option restore” itunes doesn’t give me the option to select firmware. Itunes will only let me restore and update,no other options.But I already updated thru itunes before I pwned. I’ve used pwnage many times before & never had this issue.

hmmm…. I bet you built the custom firmware image with the ‘Activate the Phone’ option checked in the general section of the build customization dialog on pwnage.
Custom activation of the 3g iPhone is not yet possible. All you have to do is re-jailbreak it by re-building the custom firmware and deselect the ‘Activate the phone’ option (it’s on the same page as the ‘disable partition wipe out’ and the slider to select the size of the root partition.
Don’t worry, nothing permanent, I did the same thing when I first jailbroke mine.

After doing using Pwnage 2.0.3 to upgrade to firmware 2.0.2 on a 1st gen. phone I have no exchange mail. Everything is well configured. I do refresh and nothing happens. Also I figure out if I use wifi I cannot get gmail but if I use EDGE Im able to do that.
On old firmware everything was working just fine with no problems.
Can someone pls help?
