Winterboard Theme

Winterboard is so nice and revolutionary that I just had to make my own theme called BigBoss Fantasy Pack. So I did. This is a Winterboard theme, it will not work on SummerBoard or the likes.

The theme presents you with 100 surreal / scifi / fantasy images hand picked and resized for the iPhone. I wrote a javascript page to cycle them randomly and fade the images in every 15 seconds. It’s gorgeous. Take a look at some screens:

I will for sure. But the app is not yet enough done to do this well. I want to give it a couple weeks first to mature. I may see if Saurik wants my assistance on the preferences GUI.

Thanks, it is very beautifull.
Just one question, I have seen that when the images are fading, the iPhone block, freeze for short time. The saurik theme have not this bad effect.
Is this because the images are to big or have my iPhone a problem?

It is a much more complicated script than Sauriks. I may look to see if we can fade using webkit rather than the script I have bit it’s pretty hard to do it with so many images. If there are any javascript experts out there that may want to help me let me know.

Yes, it is so nice!!!
I am now disturbed because I have too many icone on the sprigboard… I cannot good see the picture.
We should have a shortcut to hide all icone at once and another to unhide than all at once too when the phone is needed :-)

-First install Winterboard from cydia. Start cydia, search and type “Winterboard”, then install.
-Reboot your phone.
-Run cydia and search for “Bigboss Fantasy Pack”, then install it.
-Quit Cydia and start Winterboard from your springboard, do a long touch of the “Bigboss Fantasy Pack”

Your phone will respring and you will have this fabulous theme active.

As usual awesome work BigBoss!

Only thing I would suggest would be an option in BossPrefs to sense it is installed and allow us to choose the cycle time. I think 15 seconds is a bit fast and it seems to slow the phone down quite a bit.

I may write a GUI configurator app for this. You could add it to bossprefs dock. I am also considering a way to create a custom prefs page for bossprefs.

I’m having problems with winterboard on 2.0.1, it wont apply any themes, does anyone have any ideas why it wouldnt be working..?

You have to totally reboot the phone after installing.

2.0.1 cannot be jailbroken so it’s impossible to install Cydia, Winterboard, or any theme on it.

i also have the same problem, with the 2.0 i had no problem to change to any theme, but now with the new update i cannot change them, anybody knows anything about this?

Had the same issue after 2.1 upgrade, rebooted with Powertool & synced and it works fine now.

Bigboss very nice and thank you for upping this. The only thing I do notice is that if it is getting ready to randomly change clicking on an app can be a delay. Is this just me or did you notice this?

O yea…only one thing I would really want to be added to this app would be to allow you to switch to themes and NO themes without having to delete everything! Maybe I am missing something here? Thanks!

You switch themes in Winterboard GUI. You disable themes by installing default theme and applying it in winterboard GUI.

When I install this it starts off at the first image of the boat with the brick walls and then when a new image fades in you can still see the first one through it like the new image is semitransparent. And the problem persists for all images. You can always see that boat and those brick walls through the other image. Does anyone else get this? Help please?

my ipod touch is running under firmware 1.1.4

and as mentioned above install winter board from cydia. but i’ve no option of winterboard in my itouch’s cydia
so anyone can help me in getting the option of winterboard

sorry i dont know why things just randomly dont work for me

just picture any one of the wallpapers with semitransparent bricks superimposed on both sides and the bow of a boat in the middle

The theme is absolutely amazing. Only drawback I’ve noticed is the phone doesn’t respond as well when this theme is running. Pretty sure it’s expensive on the CPU.

Thanks BigBoss for this wonderful theme.
I love the No Fade version very much that I tried to use my own set of wallpapers but unfortunately, it only showed the 1st wallpaper and doesn’t move on to others. But anyway, just want to say thank you!

I too would love to see a setting for transition time between wallpapers, because I noticed it does lag the phone a bit with it switching fast.

Other then that, they are absolutely beautiful!

i just up upgrade to 2.01,and i jailbreaked it already. After i installed the winterboard, its show me to “restart to springboard” ,it not “return to Cydia”. i reboot it, but i still cannot changed any theme, its not work!!! T_T…plz help me….thx a lot

It is coincidence. 2.0.1 runs winterboard equal to 2.0.

first i would like to say great theme bigboss,,, so i was messing around with the theme and found out that if u change all the 100+ dont now .jpg to there right order u can put on ur on wallpapers,… but my question is does it have to be 100+ or less ….

I have cydia installed on my iphone 1.1.4. The thing is there is no Winterboard application on Cydia and people keeps telling me to search it on Cydia. I am pretty sure that it’s not in there. Please help me :(

You need to upgrade to 2.0 or higher, Winterboard doesn’t work on 1.1.4.
