Very Good, Thank You for Your Guide!
But there is a little Point with: Is your iPhone already pwned?
I hacked my iPhone with Pwnage 1.1 and Upgraded without Pwning once more. So i did not had to Pwn my iPhone who whas already pwned with 1.1.
Everything on my iPhone works perfectly.

really? so you’re saying an iphone that has been pwned before never needs pwning again? Are you saying you had pwned to 1.x, then got 2.0 from apple, and you still answered “no, no need to pwn” ?

I first got a iPhone with 1.1.4, and hacked it recently with Pwnage Tool 1.1.
So there whas the only Pwning Process ever on my iPhone.
I did all like in your Guide (An Upgrade from a Pwned 1.1 Phone) but i did not choose to Pwn, but here is everything working fine now with the upgraded 2.0 Custom Firmware.

to get settings and data back on the device, whats the best approach ? just let itunes sync stuff back or do a restore after pwning? (i guess not for the latter?)

Anyone got the direct link to the official 2.0 firmware file that Pwnage is looking for???

Thanks - been googling for some time now. I have the pre-released 1,2 version from July 10th in an IPSW file, but I don’t have the official July 11th 1,1 release of Version 2.0. Thanks!

So does this guide somewhat pertain to the 3G as well? Or just the original iphone with 2.0?

Too bad things are so darn confusing between the 2.0 name and 3G name… I saw one site say to downgrade the 3G to 1.1.4 :| I know that’s not possible, but what the heck are they trying to do? Screw peoples phones up?

Hi All…where does the pwnage tool look for the firmware. I do not want to use advanced mode but it can’t seem to find the firmware on my desktop. Any help would be appreciated.

Can you purchase apps on the app store with a pwned phone?

Yes, of course you can. Why would Apple abnegate your good money, just because your iPhone is pwned?

I currently use 1.1.4 with Booloader Version 3.9 (Ziphone) and everything works very well. So my question now is, wether I should use the option to update my bootloader to 3.9 (the Pwnage-one, because as I recall there was problem with Ziphone’s Bootloader 3.9) or to 4.6 and my second question would be, if I should use ‘Enable baseband update’ in the general-tab of Pwnage (what does this do/mean by the way?)

    Hi,

I have a ziphone hacked 1.1.4 firmware iphone. I am thinking of upgrading to 2.0 using pwnage. Here’s what I want to know:

Lets say I upgrade my phone and use pwnage to open it. Then at some point, for whatever reason, I want to restore the phone to its normal state. ie. undo everything that pwnage has done and remove all third party patches and changes to the phone. Can I do this? Can an iTunes restore overwrite all changes made by pwnage.

Sorry if this question has been addressed elsewhere. I did have a look round first :).

Hey guys (complete unlocking newb here)
I had updated my 2g iphone to 2.0 and used the pwnagetool 2.0.1 to unlock it.
It didn’t ask me for any bootloaders, but every thing else went fine.
Once itunes restored the phone, it won’t boot up now. It constantly restarts, showing the pineapple logo.
    What should I do?
PLEASE e-mail me a response because I’m at work and can’t keep checking this site.
    Thanks a ton!

    Hey !

I just updated to 2.0 through pwnage 2.0. It all worked fine but when I try to connect to the Wifi, it doesn’t work, on Safari, it says: “Error 500 Internal Server Error” as title and

    “HTTP ERROR $CODE$
    $MESSAGE$
    RequestURI=/”
    on the page

How can I fix that ?

    VictorC Reply:

I read somewhere that you have to reset all your settings in the phone. I don’t know if that’ll do it, but try it.

Got a question. I have a 2g phone that has 2.0 running and 7.7 Itunes. Have ATT as carrier. Am traveling out of country and want to unlock so I can buy prepaid SIMs rather that LD rates for local calls. If I say I am not legit phone will it screw up existing SIM card???? Do I need wait until there??
