If you guys have been visiting iPhone Dev Team you have notice that they are very close on releasing the jailbreak/unlock for 2.0. While they don’t have 3G working at the moment the release should be very helpful for all of us with 1st generation iPhone’s. Soon we will have installer and the App Store together. Keep it on here for new updates as we will keep you up to date with the Dev Team…

You’re right. Pwnage 2.0 will be for the Mac. Any OS X version that can also handle iTunes 7.7 is what I hear

The devteam said ’soon’ five days ago. They still have not changed their wording and say ’soon’. Why do you think anything is around the corner?

What progress? This asswipe develops nothing, steals other peoples coding and wants to charge for it. If you’re stupid enough.

I have a question. Owners of IPhone with 1.1.4 firmware will be able to upgrade to the new 2.0?
Thanks

speaking of which..
I followed the instructions on how to downgrade from 2.0 but got myself in all sorts of shit. The short version is that my iphone is stuck in DFU mode and wont move.. at all from any of my 3 macs plus the VmWare virtual windows I run.
I am NOT putting the blame for this on anybody but myself. however my question is: should I give up and get a new one?
will waiting until it shuts itself down when it runs out of battery maybe help me?
I ve never asked for help on the net like this before, I ve always spent hours and hours fixing things myself, but feel I am at my end with this now.. any help is cool.
Peace,
Eric

How can I tell if my phone is in DFU mode?
It’s not the same as recovery…with the “connect to itunes” logo?
thanks

hey eric,
did you find a solution yet? I had the same problem yesterday, upgraded 1.1.4 to 2.0. Everythink worked fine. In that point in time i though i had forgotten do add installer to my custom ipsw when using pwnage. ( didnt know then that installer was not working on 2.0). then tried to downgrade again to add installer, re-installed itunes 7.5. Then the same problem as you had occured: itunes did not recognize the iphone. Tried everything, was almost about to give up. Solution: re-install itunes 7.7 and it will be recognized again. Just have to live without installer till it comes out..

The title of this subject should be edited or removed, as winpwn 2.0 does not exist. This is totally misleading and wrong to promote something that does not exist. Change it now.

My phone is stuck in recovery mode/relocked…after trying to upgrade my unlocked iphone to 2.0. I don’t know if it successfully upgraded and relocked (hints the need for a quick relase of winpwn 2.0) or if I still have 1.4 and it’s locked. But have tried to restore and several other things…should I dump the phone?

Hello Preston,
If you follow the instruction on this website to downgrade from 2.0 to 1.1.4, your phone will work! I accidentally upgraded my phone and stuck in DFU or recovery mode forever. I used iLiberty to kick my phone out of DFU mode. If you need a more detailed run through, email me.

I tried that as well. The problem was then once I upgraded to 2.0 and then tried to downgrade again my iphone was not recognzied by itunes. My PC stated that it was attached and not working properly. Also tried the iliberty approach but it also did not recognize the phone. The re-installed itunes 7.5 and resotred to the 2.0 software as i did not see any other way out. running on 2.0 now, everything is working fine. Only waiting for the installer.

Is winpwn 2.0 going to be easy to do like ziphone?, and when is it supposed to come out?

Yes, supposed to be very easy.
Check out: http://www.crunchgear.com/2008/07/11/video-pwnage-20-in-action/
However this displays Pwnage 2.0 Tool which is for Mac…I assuming Winpwn 2.0 for Windows will be very similar.

so when exactly will there be a jailbreak program for the version 2.0…. i accidentally upgraded my unlocked iphone and deleted all of my installer and my programs… and i tried downgrading my iphone back to 1.14 but an error 1802 came on my computer screen so i stayed a 2.0….

Personaly I liked ziphone! although thats cause its the only one i’ve tried and it took 30 seconds the first time and my itouch was ready =D…. I cant downgrade back to 1.4 i didnt realise I couldnt when I upgraded to 2.0 (ive only had my itouch a little while)… In all irony I need a new ziphone (although i dont think its going to) or a new winpwn to be realesed now cause I need to reinstall my bible =D and im not saying do it for my sake do it for every WIN Itouch User Apples app prices and upgrade (which is just updates) prices are rediculus I didnt buy my itouch just to spend another 40$ updating!. And neither did anyone else im assuming :) Hope it comes out soon!
