Updated BossPrefs one more time for Phone / Airplane mode toggles.
A couple comments on this. In 1.65, the phone toggle would result in “no service” in the taskbar. But on contract carriers such as AT&T it did nothing at all. This version will look like airplane mode is in the taskbar when you use the phone toggle. But the wifi will be active. The wifi will disconnect for a moment and reconnect when you use this toggle. Also, you will get that annoying message about disabling airplane mode when you pull up the web browser. Just say “cancel” and you can then use the web.

I was very happy on Rogers in Canada with 1.65
I preferred the no service where carrier would be
and the lack of need of constantly disabling airplane mode nag
The new version is same as just going into airplane mode and then turning on wifi.
Since
I work in a hospital I alwayshave phone part off but use hospital wifi. With new change in 1.66 it is a pain now. How can i get back 1.65?

You don’t but I’ll tell you what. I will put a toggle in preferences that lets you select which method you want for how phone behaves.

Hi.. love the app…
But it will perfect if it had a Off Ringer/Silent Mode Toggle.
Im using an otterbox defender case and there is no access for me to push the ringer on/off button at the side the only way is to turn the volume down by pressing the volume “-” button.
Im sure that with this toggle wont only benefit my case but im sure other crystal case users out there would find it easier if they had this toggle as well without having to squeeze the finger thru the case’s access hole.
Just an idea …Thanks !!!

Hi BigBoss,
I mentioned this on ModMyiPhone, but just wondering if you have considered/know how to turn on/off the VPN using BossPrefs. I want to use ‘ADD’ to add it, but not sure what the command-line is to enable it. Wondering if you know?
Thanks,

I can look into it but I’m not sure how VPN works or really how to even test it.

Well, you would have to make a VPN server. If you have access to 2003 Server you can install its VPN (you can making the security light since its just testing), then once the session is defined you can slide VPN on/off, (which is what I’m hoping to get BossPrefs to do).
I know when the VPN is running there is a process called ‘raccoon’ running as well, but there are other processes. Do you want me to pm you a list of before and after processes?
